Saltwater Lodge is Paihia's only Qualmark-rated 5 star backpackers and budget lodge. All dorm rooms have their own en-suite bathroom, are heated and situated off a large balcony. Spacious motel-style private and family rooms are also available, complete with TV, fridge, tea/coffee tray, all linen and towels. A host of extra benefits included: large comfortable communal lounge, fully-equipped kitchen, free use of bikes, BBQ, tennis court, table tennis and foosball.

The lodge is only 50 metres from Paihia beach (where you can hire kayaks, paddleboards and fishing gear) and just five minutes’ walk to the centre of town, the bus station and wharf.
